The title Antilope evokes the pianist’s gestures as a small piece of bicycle inner tube is drawn along selected piano strings to produce an ethereal, magical and continuous sound. That very physical dimension runs throughout the work: visceral sounds, including vocal fry on the bass clarinet and iridescent techniques in the cello, form both its structural skeleton and its philosophical canvas.
